John Lahtinen
John is a golf writer, freelance writer, and editor who brings 20 years of professional and educational experience involving news, communications, media, and marketing to Suzy Whaley Golf. He holds a master's degree in journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and a bachelor's degree in English from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.

In addition to regularly writing for business publications, newspapers and academia, John has contributed to Golf News Net, GolfWRX, 2nd Swing Golf, GolfPunk USA, Christie's International, The News Hub, and Pink Ribbon Cooking, a healthy eating website dedicated to cancer patients and their families.

John has worked and/or written for several news organizations (The Hartford Business Journal, The Hartford Courant, The Charlotte Observer, Back9Network, The Connecticut Green Guide, The Burlington Free Press, The Providence Business News, The Worcester Business Journal, The Plattsburgh Press-Republican) and universities (Yale Law School, Skidmore College, The University of New Haven, Norwich University).

John contributes his media and writing expertise to Suzy Whaley Golf through the SWG website, communications and social media management. John’s two children have been involved in Suzy Whaley Golf programs for several years and John continued as a Junior League Coach in 2017 for a second year.
